Greyhawk 30X

Anyone with a Greyhawk that added an extra battery, where ? My 2018 has one house battery on a tray that slides out, but it’s not big enough for two batterys .

Thank you

Thanks for your reply, I guess the 2019 had the batteries at step, but mine has just the one located behind a door between the generator and power cord cubby. Figure I can add another one in a storage box close to it. Hope yaw are enjoying your greyhawk we love ours. We have had 3 diesels and wasn’t sure when I retired if we would like it but found out it’s perfect for us.
Thanks again

Measure your slide out tray. You might be able to fit a larger capacity AGM in the same space. I have a 125AH AGM in mine, while another forum member posted he was able to shoehorn a 155AH AGM in his slideout tray.

I've got a 2016 and since we rarely boondock, the single battery hasn't been a big deal. But -- I've been noodling on adding batteries for years. One member used steel to reinforce a cubby next to the tray and moved his batteries in there.

I'm down to two ideas in my head: (a) pay the $$$ to upgrade everything to Lithium and move them under the bed or (b) fashion up some steel brackets, attach and hang them from the frame rail. Stuff 'em in battery boxes, etc.

On my 2017 Greyhawk I added a second battery in the cabinet next to the slide out battery. I added a piece of wood under the battery to spread the load over the plastic. Drilled some large holes in the side of the plastic housing to route the cables to the other battery and to vent any battery fumes.

I also installed battery disconnect switches on each battery to be able to disconnect one or both for servicing.

The only drawback to having the battery in the compartment is that you can't see to add battery water. This was solved by the addition of the battery filler system. Works great!
