Greyhawk 30X Antenna Confusion...

Hate to ask such stupid questions but we can't seem to pick up anything with our antenna... Both TVs are pre wired with coax but they go into the wall so I'm not sure where they terminate. The jack up in the over cab that has the antenna booster on it isn't connected to anything but the booster light is green. Gives me the impression that the coach is already wired up for the digital antenna but I can't get anything. I'm also assuming that the arrow on the knob that turns the antenna indicates what direction it's pointing, correct?

I've done several scans with both TVs with the antenna arrow pointing to where my app says I should get great signal. Using "Antenas" on iOS...

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Jeff

Did you make sure the tv is set to antenna or air and not cable?

I wouldn't assume the arrow on the knob indicates the antenna's direction. On my Greyhawk, it does, but on my Jay Flight it did not. I would check it to be sure.

Also make sure you have a good bearing for towers. Anttenaweb.org is a good source for that.

The arrow on the inside indicator lines up with another arrow that indicates they must be pointing to each other to lower the antenna. You need to point the longest side of the antenna in the direction of the station and set the tv for over the air, then re-scan the channels.

There is no standard way of mounting them but usually it's generally the direction of least wind resistance when lowered during travel.

edit: again, I'm commenting on something I don't know about. If you have a King antenna, ignore my comments above!

I’ve tried apps, pointed in directions, and guessing but I am pretty happy with this $28 device.

Also, that arrow is the direction on your 2019.

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not.

Roger to all of that, scanned a ton of times. Nothing. I'm not in open air though so I'm going to hold any further judgement until I get some place that I know isn't obstructed in any way.

Thanks,
Jeff

I was going to say the following but you already did:
Did you turn on the pre-amp? I have a coax outlet that has a tinny little button and green LED in it. Press it, green light comes on and the pre-amp is turned on. I generally can't get anything unless the pre-amp is on.

If I recall, the outlet I have with the booster also doesn't have anything connected to it, but the green light comes on.

Next I'd look at the connectors on the coax. Jayco used the cheapest possible connectors you can buy. I found 1 that was most of the way off. Another TV had about 300 ft of coax wound up under the bed causing 30 dB of loss to that TV. As cheap as they are, I can't understand leaving all that coax wound up.
