Greyhawk dump tube storage use

I hate wasted space on the RV but I can't figure out what to use the small compartment designed for the dump tube storage. i keep my tube and fittings in a plastic bin in one of the under coach compartments as it is the heavy duty type and wont fit there. I am just curious what others use this storage for if not for the dump tube.

Yes, on my Greyhawk 31SS , the compartment is way too small for my hose. It is not very deep either for long items, can't even store my swim noodle in there. Probably a good place to hide variables. Would a thief look into a compartment labeled Sewer Hose?

This idea always worked for me. I used to store our Honda generator in a basement in a box labeled "Sewer Hose and Fittings".

I use it to store water hoses.

And BTW thieves will look everywhere - don't count on that.

We stay at COE campgrounds which usually do not have sewer hookups at the sites. We store a short sewer line with a connector attached in the "sewer hose" compartment right near the dump valve. This is a convenient location to just drive up to a dump site, pull out the hose and dump the tanks. Rinse the hose and pop it back in the tube.

We also carry a 20' hose in the rear storage compartment (coiled up in a sealed container) when we stay at a site with sewer hook-ups.

My standard size cheapy sewer hose is in this compartment - handy for when we hit the dump station. Heavy duty hose is in 5 gallon bucket in the "garage".

Send a message via ICQ to WPnorton
I store a coil hose in there. Fits perfectly and is easy to reach for quick cleanup at the dump station.

I slide our dump line inside the rear bumper area. Installed two of those end caps works fine. Just need to pin the caps so these stay in place. I saw this idea on the same type of class C we have. 011 Greyhawk 31ds. Carry a short hose just in case I need an extra length and store this in the sewer hose compartment.

I also have an 11 DS, did you replace the rear bumper with a tube that holds the sewer hose?

Since my hose storage has never been used for sewer hose, I keep the marshmallow roasting forks in there. Length is perfect and they do not store well anywhere else.

The dump tube storage on our 31DS is separate from the bumper but as has been mentioned a heavy duty hose with fittings won't fit in it.
