Greyhawk Furnace

When I run the furnace the blower comes on and then the burner ignites. The burner will stay on for 4.5 minutes, then it cuts off, the blower stays on. After 1.5 minutes the burner will kick on again before the blower stops. This cycle continues until the desired temp is reached. I have timed the sequence, and it remains the same +or- a few seconds. Is this normal operation? I have checked the heat outlets and they all seem to be blowing fine, with no obstructions.

Unfortunately that is the normal operation.

I would of thought the burner would stay lit until reaching desired temp. Thanks for the responses. Nothing wrong with my furnace then.

My furnace does the same thing more or less. I believe what's happening is that these things have inadequate flow to the registers. The over temp thermostat is shutting the furnace off until it cools enough and then does the cycle starts all over again.

Ours ran great, until we needed it about three week ago. Now the fan comes on for about 30 seconds as it should. Ignition but shuts off anywhere between seconds to about 15 seconds. Just keeps cycling like that. Checked all vents...good air flow. All wiring is good. Exhaust vent is clear. Little red light still blinks once very 3 seconds which indicates air flow/limit problem! Last night I searched on line and someone said possibly air in gas line. So I ran the stove burners for about a minute and wouldn't you know I tried the furnace and it stayed on! Coincidence?? Tried it again without the burners first and it stayed on!! Coincidence again?? Well temp got down to about 45 this morning and guess what??? It didn't work!!! Kept cycling! Conclusion...Atwood furnaces are garbage. Service techs don't know what they are doing. BTW the furnace is in our 2016 31DS. Still under warranty so I am going to demand a new one. In the mean time anyone else have this problem and a quick fix??

I did have another problem last December with the furnace staying on. I took it in and they found some moisture on the control circuit board. Here is the thread about it.

I received a message from JAYCO after contacting them about my furnace operation. They said to get it checked out at dealer. It is not supposed to work that way. I will have them look at it the next time I have to take it in.
