Greyhawk Hydraulic Pump Bracket

2018 Greyhawk 31 fs ,,,had the recall pump bracket installed at Dealer today. So far so good , To me it looks like a very good design and is very Heavy Duty looking hopefully it will work ok . My old original welded bracket had 19,000 miles on it including 2 trips from Florida to Canada …..Old bracket was not broken….

I got mine done last week and it looks like a definite improvement. Can't believe they installed these in such a poorly designed way for so many years. Makes me wonder just how many actually broke and fell down.

Make sure you test your levelers before going camping. Several of us have had issues after the new pump bracket was installed. On mine, the Tech attached the grounding cable to the powder coated bracket which did not provide sufficient grounding for the pump. I moved mine to the frame and have had no further issues.

+1 on the ground. I tested mine at the dealer but when I got to my first campground the levelers wouldn't power up. I had to scrape some paint away where it was grounded to the frame to get a good connection.

Thanks for the advice. I did test mine at the dealer and again a couple days later after getting it home. I'm going to take your advice and check their connections.

Yes my tech had to move my ground wire also,,Genius had put it on the painted new bracket. I tested it at the dealer and it did not work, I ask him did he test it he said NO…..I got him to move the ground wire to the frame and BOOM it worked. Got home and found the bracket mounting bolts loose so I tightened them. NEVER TRUST a Dealership mechanic…

Another item to check after the dealer does the fix. My dealer added the bracket between the pump housing and the original bracket. Once I got the rig at home I double-checked the fix and found this problem. The additional thickness of the new bracket meant that I only had 1 thread of the studs engaged by the 2 nuts. I ended up ordering 2 longer pump mounting studs from the pump manufacturer to get the proper nut thread engagement. Another disappointment from the dealership service team.

Hydraulic Pump Bracket

Had the same problem with the bracket on our 2020 Greyhawk. The service tech connected the ground wire to the new bracket, not to the frame as instructed. The bracket itself is not a good ground. Depends on how the bracket touches the MH frame rails, which explains why it might work sometimes. If you're interested, I've attached the Jayco instructions for installing the new bracket. See step 10.

Thanks for those instructions Bob. I was going to crawl under there and check the wiring but with those I'm going to check the whole thing. Already got them printed.

If you are a True RV person always check work done at dealership when possible, if you don’t shame on you when you are broke down on side of road….
