Greyhawk Rubber Roof

I have a 09 Greyhawk I keep a close watch on my roof, now I am noticing the edges of the roof developing problems. The edge protection the factory put on the wood. The ends where they overlap the sharp corners are starting to poke small pin holes, staples working loose and working thru the rubber. I guess I am going to have to Eternabond tape all the edges.

That’s not good! Are you the original owners?

Being a 2009 model you are near the 10 year mark. Rubber roofs don’t last much longer. They will tell you they do but most won’t. I’ve had rubber on travel trailers before. Not my favorite.

They do make a coating that you can put over the entire roof that will fix problems like this. Not sure of the cost. Someone that has done it might help you with it. I have read people seem very pleased.

Not sure when Jayco stopped using rubber roofs on the Greyhawks? One of the buying points for us on the Jayco Greyhawk happened to be the one piece fiberglass roof they now have.

I do not remember when they changed the roof, I am third owner I think its life in Fl did not help I have it under cover. I have installed one of them on a travel trailer once not to bad of a job except for all the screws

09 Greyhawk here as well and yeah, you want to get that roof replaced or coated ASAP. Mine is thinning but still good for another year or so. I plan on using the liquid EPDM rubber coating. Iíve replaced the epdm roof before on my first C and itís no fun.

If you mechanical and handy you can buy all the materials on line for about 500.00 for a 31 foot. It is knowing how to remove all the vents, trim and any wood repair and EPDM reinstall and knowing how to install its labor intensive. I have done a few not fun.
