Greyhawk tossed an engine rod

Yup, 2011 Jayco cls C Greyhawk V10 eng, 34000 miles engine is history. And no Ford will not warranty. So sitting in Montana waiting on an engine. Kinda disgruntled right now. No reason I am able to figure out the why.

Not after 7 yrs, no one would. Dealer always told me low mileage MH's are the ones he was always leary of.

If 5W20 wasn't used it could be. The V10 has very close tolerances.

Shy of the rod bolts breaking or nuts coming off, throwing a rod is most certainly oil related, could be the oil was never changed and sludged up and plugged the oil pump pickup starving the engine of oil.
The newer V10's recommend 5w30 oil because 5w20 oil is not robust enough. I switched mine after I bought it, first thing I did, Mobil 1 full synthetic with Mobil 1 filter.

It sucks but it is still mechanical stuff it is hard to determine the cause unless the engine after taking apart get examined. A small oil channel can be plugged with debris and the one rod might lack oil on the bearing.

They used 5w20 to try to get better fuel mileage. Didn't help, switched to 5w30.
