Greyhawk XM install

I have a 2016 Greyhawk MV.

Anyone add the xm module themselves?

Looks simple but.....

I'm a little concerned about removing the radio to plug in the xm in the back. Afraid I may break the trim.

Can't seem to find removal instructions online.

Anyone have a link to instuctions/video?

Any thoughts?

We have xm in our 26xd Redhawk. Have it plugged into the auxiliary plug on the front of the radio. The antenna sits about a foot in front of the radio antenna.

Question: Do you have any problem hearing the radio while underway? I have tried to the use the Bluetooth and also xm in my truck but the background noise is so great that it's not pleasant.

I do have a lot on my roof that i'm sure does not help with road noise.

I also have a 2016 MV. I started the process to access the rear of the radio, because there were signs that the GPS antenna connection was loose.

You have to remove the whole front trim piece from the dash. I got it partway off and couldn't figure out the 'trick' to get it off around the steering column.

I had the same problem. Took the engine cover inside the cab off and reached up behind the radio and plugged in the antennae that way. Then ran the cable through the fire wall and put magnetic base in middle of hood. Works great! Does look a little funny.

That's an interesting way. I hadn't thought about removing the engine cover.

Was it difficult to find the location to pull in the module by touch, without seeing it?

Or, were you somehow able to see the back if the radio?

Did the engine cover come off and replace easily?

Engine cover comes off very easily. You can see the back but not real well. I looked at the diagram for the plug and the radio and kind of just felt my way. It can only go one way, just don't force it. My hands are not real big and I'm sure that helped. I also was afraid of breaking faceplate. Mine came with two long tools to remove radio, but i could not get it. Good luck!

Thank you Bill!

I'll try the engine cover removal method.

I will post the results, but it will be a few weeks, based on my schedule.
