Heating duct cleaning

I just fired up the heater today to take the chill off the inside of the RV so I could do a little work. Mice must have built a nest somewhere in the heating ducts and boy did it stink. Any thoughts on how to clean them? And has anyone use those electronic ultrasonic rodent deterrents and do they seem to work?

Sounds like some work. First is did they get in the furnace or chew through the flex ducting. I would look at the furnace. You might have to remove it to thoroughly clean it out.

Crap, I didn't realize it was flex ducting. I hope it not like dryer flex vent and more like commercial insulated ducting. Is it a PITA to remove the furnace?

Its crappy flex duct.

As for ultrasonic units, I'm not convinced they work. I have an older unit, and still had mice. Coworker recently bought one, and says he has been having good luck with it in his barn, where he stores his old cars.

Nope, very similar to what you use on a dryer.

Jagiven won!....

That's sad they use cheep ducting.

How easy is it to get at the furnace? Access is from the master bedroom I suspect.
