Heavy Parts

I had to pull this out from under the dinette seat doing some work, curious I about the weight.It weighs 28lbs and there are two of them just for seat belts.You would think they could come up with a lighter item to attach belts to, such as the floor as this frame is attached to the floor.I was having trouble with uploading a picture posted it in another thread

Mine in my Seneca look similar. Frankly, I am glad they made it beefy since my loved ones are belted in there frequently!

I understand the belts on jack knife sofa are bolted to floor so with longer belts those could of been bolted there also.It does not matter I never have anyone who travels with us will put them back if and when I sell it.

I think Grumpy nailed it. They spend alot of money getting parts certified to meet regulations and are reluctant to switch to a new design that will have to be recertified.
