Help!!! For my sanity sake; help!

I purchased a 2017 Jayco Redhawk 26XD and picked it up last friday. I was supposed to have a walkthru and instructions on how everything worked by that didn't happen. (ridiculously long story)
For the last 4 days I have been trying to put fresh water into the holding tank. I wanted to sanitize but at this point, just getting water to flow into the tank would be a miracle. I have made 2 calls to Jayco, read the Owner's Manual and the User's Manual. I have turned all the valves and faucets in every combination possible. I let the water pump run to bleed the air from the lines; no water.
Can anyone tell me if there is some magic knob that I am missing and where it is located?

Thanks in advance,
KymMcC

Can you send a picture of your water control panel where you connect your water.

If you are trying to pump the solution into the tank from a jug or bucket you probably need to flip the little screen (so it's pointed in) where the hose connects. That will hold the check valve open, it is a common problem. Just remember to flip it back when finished.

That was the first thing I did. Is it possible that the check valve is stuck closed?

What happens when you connect your garden hose to the unit and set the valves for a city connection? You should be able to open any faucet and water should flow. No pump needed. This will verify some of the plumbing.

If you are trying to suck in a bleach solution, the valves need to be set for country fill (same as sanitize and winterize) and the pump turned on. If there is any air leak at the fittings it won't suck in. I know this from experience. The hose connection needs to be real tight and the container should be elevated above ground level if possible.

City fill is used to fill the tank.

I would first see if water is capable of flowing into the unit by using the city connection and opening a valve.

These settings are for my 2017 Greyhawk. I don't know if the Redhawk uses the same panel and valves.

Does your unit have a pass through storage compartment? If so is there a small enclosed compartment where the back side of the control panel is? Our 2018 31DS has this. Water pump, some in line shut off valves and water filter canister are there. Check position of valves there

You can see the end of the screen push on the check valve. As JimD asked does the tank fill with a city water connection? That would push the valve open too.

Make sure that the set screws are tight in the black handles. They could be turning and not moving the valve.

If you can't get water to flow into the rig at all under any conditions, it's possible that the fittings on either side of a filter are closed. If your unit has a filter, find it. There should be a valve before and after the filter (so you can close off flow to the canister and change the filter). It's possible if either of those valves are closed (the handle is perpendicular to the water line when closed; parallel to the water line when open), water will not flow into the rig at all, regardless of whether your panel is set to city/country/normal.

It could be hidden in a deep, dark recess behind drawers or cabinets.

On my 2013 Greyhawk there are 2 water inlets one for water to be used or fill tanks and the other is only used to sanitize my black tank. Confirm you are connected to the correct inlet? And as all the others have replied make sure you have the dials pointing to the correct numbers for what you would like to accomplish.

I have that panel. Yeah, the check valve is a thing, but if you're hooked up to City Water, then that usually has enough pressure to push it open. It's only when I Country Fill that I have to flip the valve.

Grab a hose, connect to the TOP inlet. Valves to City Fill (not City Fixtures). Water on, and tank should fill.

Thank you Grumpy!!!

Winner, winner; chicken dinner!!!
Grumpy suggested that the set screws that hold the black knobs in the Water Valve Controls may be loose so even if I was adjusting the valves, it may not be moving them in the wall. I tightened the set screws, changed the settings back to City Fill (no water pump) and WHOOSH - We have full fresh water tanks.
Thank you everyone for your help.
No more tears, at least for today.

I don't know if you will find this helpful but for me it was a saviour. I bought an unused 2020 Jayco trailer from someone who bought it new but never used it. I had no warranty and no idea how anything worked. This video was the best info I'd found to date:

Jayco quality is terrible and their customer service is, near as I can tell, non existent. Best info is on this forum and in youtube.
