help please

Can someone tell me if my 2019 redhawk 22c se has front and rear anti sway bars? I called jayco tec support and all they could tell me was that it had front and rear stabilizer bars and they had no idea if the stabilizer bars are the same thing as anti sway bars. I am getting a lot of push from wind so i want to improve that i already bought a steering stabilizer that i am gonna get put on as well as a wheel alignment at the same time but i dont want to add anti sway bars if my rig already has them.

I don't believe Redhawk's do... I'll let someone more knowledgeable comment but I believe that's part of J-Ride which is a Greyhawk and up package...

Your Redhawk has (at best) a Ford OEM sway bar front and rear. Greyhawks come with an upgraded rear sway bar, but still the Ford OEM bar up front.

My recommendation (that will likely be echoed by many others here) is to replace both with Hellwig upgrades.

ETA: In Jayco lingo, "Stabilizer Bar"="Sway bar"="Anti-Sway bar"...

Thank you for correcting me. I'll make a note of that going forward.

Just went with this for the front bar on my 2018 Greyhawk with Ford E450 chassis. The blue stock bar is a joke compared to this beefier bar.
Helwig 7718 bar made a big diff but was driving north to MA from NJ with 40 mph wind gusts and it didn't feel any different. I do notice it on turns and when being passed on hwy. It was worth the $500 cost bar + install. Click image for larger version

There are two different J-Ride packages, the standard is on the Redhawks, the J-Ride Plus is on the Greyhawks.

The Redhawks have Ford OEM sway bars front and rear, the Greyhawks have a Ford OEM front and Hellwig rear.

Hi, we have a class c 22j and replated the sway bars, front and rear also added steering stabilizer all from road master via etrailer. Major difference in driving. Dw shares the driving no problem.

I would crawl under the unit and have a look. They are easy to identify.you my want to compare the diameter of the helwig bar vs what you already have.

Yes. Mine is a 2020 Jayco Redkawk SE 22c with standard front and rear heavy duty antisway bars on a Chevrolet Express 4500. They made five changes from 2019 to 2020.

What you are looking for is a front and rear Track Bar . Most chassis already have Sway bars. Track bars make all the difference with Sway bars and Steering stabilizer. In 40 mph not much is gonna help. Going From northern Florida down to Tampa with 35 mph cross winds most motorhomes with toads were all over their lane, when I would pass them and look in the rear view mirror I could see them going over the white line back & forth. The older cabover rigs were even worse.
The only coaches not affected seemed to be the big rigs diesel pushers that would pass without any wandering.

Wtf?? I've never heard anyone speaking about these. Everyone always mentions the sway bars. Change the sway bars. Never knew these even existed. I am definitely looking into this a bit more now. Lol. I have J ride plus with what I believe is a Helwig bar which Jayco puts on. ( so I was told by Jayco motorized support) so will this fit since it's technically not a ford factory sway bar?

Thx

I had seen track bars a while back, but I dismissed them quickly for some reason. Probably because I wasn't there yet.

So here's my question on the track bars: Would you (the group) recommend installing track bars in conjunction with an upgraded sway bar? Or instead of?

My Greyhawk already has the Hellwig sway bar in the rear (and the front since I upgraded that), so I'm wondering if adding track bar would make as big an impact. My rig also has the Hellwig helpers in the rear, so I'm wondering if that changes anything?

I've often thought the Hellwig helpers are a bit of a gimmick mostly on these rigs. I don't know that they're rated high enough to make as significant a difference as some other enhancements would make...

There's another long thread on the forum that discusses the adjustment of the helper springs.. Most say it makes a huge difference. If I can do the rear track bar I will make the helper spring adjustments also.
