Help with our Jayco 26xd Rear Slide Out!

Hi - we are supposed to be leaving to drive home (2,000 miles away) in four days. Our rear slide out will go in or out three inches at most and stop and do nothing if we try to push the button. We are newbie RV's. We took it to a shop this morning to see if they had any clue and they thought it was the motor. Does anyone know how to access a manual operation of the slide out until we get home? We can't find anything on it in the manual. Does anyone know what type of slide this is? We just took the bed plywood up to see if we could access the motor to trouble shoot at all and it was just more thick wood under there.

Are you on shore power? It looks like a SCHWINTEK slide system according to pics that I've seen.

Have since learned it is a Lippert Schwintek in-wall slide-out. Went to their documentation site and found a lot of helpful information about trouble-shooting.

We now have managed to fully retract it. However, we're not going to try extending it again until we have located the slide controller. Does anyone know where it is on the 2020 26 XD? We have looked about everywhere.

Is the generator running? You may have a weak battery and you need the extra boost from the converter. With the SCHWINTEK slide (rails on both sides) you need to find the controllers and unplug the motors to release the brakes so you can push the slide in.

The slide controller is under the bed platform which is only accessible when the slide is fully extended. Extend the slide, unscrew the paneling then unscrew the plywood underneath. The slide out controller will be in the rear on the left side. It has led lights that will let you know the problem using the legend on the label. See attached pictures. I had to remove the mounting screws because the wiring was so tight it bent the connectors causing intermittent failures.

Schwintec Slide Out Tips

Extending Slideout To Get To The Controller When Unable To Open Fully

1. Extend the slide room using the switch keeping the switch engaged until the slide out stops moving.
2. If the slideout is not fully extended retract the room 1-2 inches.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until the slideout is fully extended.
4. You will now have access to slideout controller.

Resynchronizing the Slide-Out Motors

1. Fully extend the slide room using the switch. Keep the switch engaged until the motors shut down on their own.
2. Retract the room 1-2 inches.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until both motors shut down at the same time. In many cases, two or three repetitions are necessary to re-sync the system.
4. Fully extend and then retract the room. Again, always let the motors shut down on their own before releasing the switch.

RV Slideout Tips

Make sure you always hold the button for a few seconds LONGER after it runs, both in and out, until all sounds have stopped.

Don't run the slide out partially and bring it back in
