hot water heater bypass

I never bypassed the water heater in my travel trailers when winterizing ( using compressed air ). Why do I need to do this in our new RV?

If using air as I do you dont have to bypass the HWT. The only reason to bypass is when using the pink stuff the HWT would fill requiring a lot more to do the job.

If you are using CA you technically do not need to bypass the water heater.

I would recommend while blowing air through the lines, to exercise the valves, as you might have some trapped water in the vertical pipe section, that could freeze and could break a fitting. But if you have not had an issue in the past, maybe you wont have an issue in the future.
