Hot water heater issue..

It's a 2017 Melbourne 24M.
The button on the inside control panel no longer ignites the outside gas pilot light/burner that heats the water in the hot water heater.
The electric mode still works, when we are plugged in at an RV park.
The crew at Camping World/Albuquerque tells me that a "new board" is needed to repair the gas/heater unit.........I do not know what that is or what caused the failure.
Any thoughts?

They are talking about a circuit board...works the igniter for the gas. I suspect they are correct if it still works on 120volt but not gas.

They aren't hard to change...open the water heater access door on the outside of the motorhome and it's inside there.

Always better to do it yourself. Avoid that dealer.

I've been seeing lots of water heater problems, including on my new unit. See my thread "Atwood water heater issue."
