House battery not charging on shore power

We have a 2016 Jayco Melbourne 24K. Just finishing up 6 weeks in Alaska/Canada. House battery is fully charged after driving 4-5 hours during the day but once we plug into shore power battery drops to 1/3 by morning. We have dry camped 2-3 times during the last 6 weeks. We use a surge protector/power monitor when plugged in. Any ideas? Thanks!

Sounds like your converter/charger is not working. Check breaker, flip off/on, check for fuse.

I just experienced the same symptoms and troubleshot it down to a bad converter. I have the Progressive Dynamics PD4590 in mine, and you can find troubleshooting information in the owner's manual and on the website. I essentially isolated the batteries and measured the converter output with a multimeter to confirm that it wasn't outputting a recharge voltage to the battery bank. Regardless of your make/model, I'm sure the same is true as far as finding troubleshooting info.

Thank you! We are taking ours in, hopefully covered by warranty

It was just a breaker, feel silly now for not checking that first

Glad it was just a breaker for you. When our house battery stopped charging (on nine day trip, of course), our converter had failed. Luckily we were still under warranty.

Hmmm. We get the RV back on Monday and will keep an eye on that. Thanks for sharing about the converter.
