Inflating outside rear tire on Redhawk

We recently bought a used 2019 Jayco Redhawk 24B. I have a question about checking the pressure and inflating the outside tire on the rear duals. (I can get at the front tires okay, and the inside rear tire has a valve stem extension mounted to one of the holes in outside wheel cover.)

I tried using a dual head air gauge (like a Milton S-927, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000COS0R4/), but the angle of the backward-facing head of the gauge and the position of the valve stem near the hole in the aluminum wheel cover is such that I can't get the gauge to fit onto the valve stem. (See attached picture.) The angle of the head relative to the pipe seems to be about 30 degrees, and it seems that I would need something that was about 40-45 degrees.

I also tried a rotating head air chuck (Jaco Lightning T-series, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZHMB9BF/), but the hole in the wheel cover was too small to allow maneuvering the head of the chuck onto the valve stem.

What kind/brand of tire pressure gauge and air chuck would you suggest when checking and inflating this kind of tire arrangement?

They make a short extension to screw on outside valves so your gauge will work!

Welcome to the forums! I'll be the third to recommend extensions.

If you need to check it before you get the extension take the hub cap off and you will be able to. Been there done that.

Got some extension coming today since Tire place didn't set the one insert correctly, just pushes in so can't check air. So I'll pop the hubcaps and add the curved extension while I fix it

I bought these to check tire pressure.

https://www.amazon.com/ILOVA-Extensi...s%2C108&sr=8-1

I do not trust them not to leak so I screw them on check to check tire pressure then remove them.

Thanks for the responses. The 3/4 in extenders didn't allow easy access thru the wheel cover, but I found some Pacific Dualies 135 degree extenders that did allow good access. See https://www.pacificdualies.com/colle...ee-2-caps-pair .

Using nuts and bolts, with careful placement, I custom mounted two valve, extensions and brackets made by Phoenix. I’ve had them on for over three years no issues.

With my wheel trim off I can just get enough angle on my dual head tire pressure gauge to get a good reading. It helps to push (pull) the gauge head onto the valve stem with one hand while holding the body of the gauge with the other hand. It takes a little pratice.

If your using TPMS you will have to add some type of extension with brackets, unless you find a truck shop to install steel extensions.
