Inverter Powers What?

We have a 2016 Greyhawk and the manual states that the inverter powers the refrigerator. We have tried running the inverter when driving but the refrigerator show an F code. We have taken it to the dealer to have fixed twice and it still does not work. We called Jayco tech and they say it doesn't power the refrigerator. Curious as to if this works for others. If not, how does everyone run their refrig while driving?

That statement about the inverter running the refrigerator is "only" if you have a residential fridge. Unfortunately the manuals are somewhat generic.

In the Greyhawk it only powers the front TV and "maybe" the back TV.

Just set the fridge to "auto", and it will switch from electric to gas automatically. That's what it's designed to do, and it works great.

Thank you for the responses! This has been somewhat confusing. When we took it in to have repaired they told us they fixed it, would have helped if they told us it didn't power the refrig. I guess we'll run the refrig on propane like we used to in our TT.

Like they said just set it to auto and when you disconnect from shore power it will automatically switch over to propane. When you plug back in it will switch back to electric. Happy camping

I run the fridge on propane while traveling, it is only two way not three way, look up the model code and you will find out what you have. Inverter is only 100watts in 2015 , 200watts in 2016 doubt it is enough to run a fridge.

If there's a 3 in your model number you a 3 way all others are two way (elec./propane).
All fridges: controls run on 12 volt and heating element on 110 volt (when on electric)
When on AUTO: electric is #1 priority and propane is 2nd priority.

To be clear, are you guys saying I do not have to have my inverter turned on when starting my fridge (3-way), no shore power and generator off? On the two occasions I've tried that, on auto, it seems to attempt to start and then fails and displaces a fault indication. When I turn the inverter on, fridge fires up. Coincidence?

With the inverter on you are back on the electric side of the refrigerator. The propane was trying to fire up but did not light indicating there is an issue with your propane side of the fridge. Try turning the fridge off and then back to gas side and see if it lights. If it doesn't turn it off and wait 3 minutes. Do this again 3 times. You might want to check to make sure you have gas in your system by lighting your stove. This will show you that you have gas and bleed the air out of the lines. These are just a few ideas. If this doesn't work, you may have other issues that need service. Hope you find it helpful. Good luck

The 2016 Greyhawks have 1000w inverters. I believe the 2015 Greyhawks have 400 w inverters.

Both our 2015 Redhawk 23XM and our 2016 Redhawk 26XD have 1000 watt inverters.
