Inverter Question

Hi all,

I have a 2017 Greyhawk 31DS with a 1,000 watt inverter. I've never used it until recently and found that it doesn't power any of the GFCI's, or the outlets below the dinette.

It makes sense from a load perspective to not power the GFCI's since coffee makers, hair dryers, etc. generally pull more than 1,000 watts, but not powering the outlets below the dinette surprised me, especially since that particular outlet also has 2 usb ports.

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

My 2017 Greyhawk 29W inverter ONLY powers the TV outlets - bedroom and main area. The main area outlet will probably have an added outlet control function which prevents it from energizing if the engine is running. This added "feature" is easily bypassed.

I don't think I can add much here, but here goes. You're right, 1000 watts won't go far. I think the makers are trying to give us a little bit of 120vac to get us through the night. Typically you'll find one outlet in the bedroom, think CPAP. Though with two 100A lithium batteries we can also use a king size electric mattress pad all night on those cold nights. Another outlet behind the television. And for some reason, an outlet in the kitchen. Maybe it's just a convenient location for a fan or laptop charger, or something like that. Maybe you can run an extension cord from one of these to under the dinette table. Not elegant, but usable.
