Question Inverter Running...why?

I hear the inverter (Xantrex Pro 1000), which is located under the foot of the rear bed, occasionally turn on and run for a while, and then turn off (when plugged into shore power). Is this normal? If so, what is it doing? What does it supply? Why would it need to be on when the RV is plugged in?

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thx

It has electronics, namely the transfer switch circutry, that are always on and need cooling.

Ok, thanks guys. I only find it slightly annoying, but mostly wanted to make sure it was working properly.

Still good info for determining a location when and if the time comes that I install one.

My Xantrex has been tossing E05 errors fairly often now. Annoying.
