Invisibrake Engaged

I was driving my dinghy vehicle (2017 Colorado) this morning and came to a stop to enter a roundabout and my Invisibrake system engaged. I heard the compressor kick on and then the brakes applied. After about 45 seconds the compressor kicked off and the brakes released. Has anyone had this happen, what causes this and what is the quickest way to disconnect the system if it happens again?

I have the Invisibrake installed on our 2014 Tahoe, and have had no issues . I read several reports of brake lock up occurring. My research indicated that the source of the problem is improperly installed diodes in the tail lights. Road Master speaks of this in the installation guide. The diodes must be sealed from moisture. My installer sealed all connections with an abundance of silicone sealant.

Are you referring to diodes in the dinghy taillights or the RV taillights?

Dinghy. The diodes allow the rear dinghy lights to be operated as if it was a trailer.

I got out the installation manual and I see what you are talking about. I am going to calll Roadmaster tomorrow to get their take on what could have caused it. We’ve had the system since June and this is the first time it has happened and yesterday was the first snow I have driven the truck in. The Camping World tech who installed the system told me to put some dielectric grease in the emergency disconnect. I did that but am not sure if that solved it or conditions haven’t caused it to happen again.

Now I understand the source of your problems....Camping World. I doubt seriously if doing what was suggested would make a difference. Suggest you pull a rear light assembly and inspect the diodes. The electric terminals must be protected from moisture to prevent current from flowing between the terminals.

I talked to Roadmaster this morning and they suggested the same thing, moisture on the diodes. She also said the same thing about the dielectric grease on the emergency disconnect, it is not going to help a thing. She did recommend a little grease on the plug connection on the front of the truck. Pulling the rear light housings now.
