I can see a trailer genny being towed for range extension or boon docking.

Yeah, because a range of 124 miles just isn't going to cut it. The absolute closest place I camp on the regular is much further than that.

I like it as a concept though, and I'm sure ranges will increase. Coming up with a way to charge the batteries constantly (like covering the entire roof with solar panels) should help as well...

I have a client who is a solar enthusiast, a diesel mechanic and runs a trucking company. The technology for electric long-haul trucks is coming along according to him. Perhaps some of that tech could or will be adapted to the "civilian" market...

You'd think by now Honda would have worked with the RV industry to design a pretty much silent generator that would power the coach when the batteries started to get low.

Sort of shocked we haven't seen it yet. Even if you bought a Ford chassis and took the motor/trans out seems like it would still be worth it.
