Issue with cutting red wire in order kids can watch tv while driving

Hi All, I have cut red wire behind the outlet in order the kids can watch tv while driving but I have issue with backup camera is not turn on by Garmin fusion for 2018 greyhawk. I just wonder anybody having same my issue and how to fix it. Thanks

When you put the unit in reverse does it switch to the camera but you don’t have any video or does it not even switch? If no switch them the trigger wire might be lose. If no video then the unit might have a poor connection to the camera. Can you not select the camera from the screen? The unit has to be securely mounted in the base to work the camera. Also the ignition must be on for the camera to work.

When I put the unit in reverse or turn on the signal light, it not switch to camera. If I select camera from the screen, it works. I’m not sure the red wire has something to do with the fusion unit. I don’t have that issue before cutting the red wire.

It's triggered by the back-up light circuit. Do the back-up lights still work?

Mine does the same thing following this modification. I’ve never made the connection before between the two. My backup lights do work.

I've asked the same question with my 2018 Redhawk. I've gotten some inputs but haven't tried anything yet. I don't want to cause any other issues...I'll keep watching this tread. Let me know if something does work with no after cutting issues!

Thanks all. The issue has resolved due to fusion unit not connect to console properly. I have confirmed everything working after cutting the red wire.
