Jayco 31UL Ground Clearance and Curb Ramp

Hello Jayco Owners,

I pick up the new 31UL on Thursday and was preparing the RV parking on the side of our house. I will likely have to bring the RV up an 8" curb via wooden block ramps I'm constructing. I have a few of questions.

What's the ground clearance of the 31UL?
Am I better off backing the RV in or going nose first?
Any ramp suggestions other than the traditional wooden block?

Thanks,

Don

Hi dwmiller78 & welcome. CONGRATULATIONS on your 31 UL.
I don't have our 31 UL at home so I can't give you any measurements. A lot depends on the length of the ramps. You have more clearance with backing up but if you have a pretty severe angle your front could contact the pavement.
Don't take any shortcuts with the ramps.......solid, thick and wide. You don't want a tire dropping through a weak structure..
Hope someone can give you some helpful suggestions.

I'm looking at a similar problem, but I don't have an option of going in forward or backing in...
if I pull iin forward, there's no room to get the truck out.

Watch out for the exhaust (Rig and Generator).
It is relatively low and will be the first thing that gets caught.

My 2015 31 UL is in the parking lot down the street. We are going out for dinner right now so I'll stop and get a couple of measurements. Talk in about an hour.

Thanks Bob! The measurements have given me some reassurance that I won't destroy my new toy and it's maiden voyage into the side yard. PDI is today at 3pm PST!

I should be able to clear it with the ramps I made. 27" wide x 24" deep X 8" Tall and a 1.5" rise for each step. I tested with my Equinox and the lowest point in the from is 6" which scraped a little...
