I know this will sound stupid. How do you access the hot water tank to get to the bypass valve? Getting ready to add RV antifreeze. Thanks:

You will likely need to include your year and model since different floorplans may have different access methods. Hopefully then another owner of a similar unit can respond.

On our 2016 31FS, the back of the water heater sits under the kitchen counter. Maybe open the doors below the kitchen sink and look to the right with a flashlight? If you put the living room slide out, there is a wooden grille grate thing to the right of the cabinet doors that is removable with four screws. Our 2016 has the much maligned Girard tankless water heater, so unlike your 2018 there isn't actually a bypass, but if it had a bypass I would expect to find it in this area.

Good luck! Let us know what you find.

Do you have the tankless heater or did they do away with it for 2018?

Access to hot water tank

Found it. Thanks to all. I find it a little strange that the outside drain plug is located directly behind a pipe.....very difficult to remove.

I don't think we know yet if this is a tankless water heater or not. Hearing of difficult access to the plug you may be removing something on a tankless that should not be removed. Most tank water heaters are either a Surburban or an Atwood. On those two there is somewhat easy access to the plug for draining out the water. It may be late to respond on this thread now but I would sure want to help anyone if we can avoid further difficulty. Good luck.
