jayco J ride plus

We have been owners of fifth wheels for 30 years and are considering moving to a Class C. We have been looking at the Jayco 31FP. Please help, is there a considerable difference in driving with the JRide Plus versus other lines of Class C's on the market? Thanks so much. Also, any other factors we should consider in this decision?

I would say that I have seen a bit less body roll on mine over prior class A's but this is my first C. I am going to adjust the Hellwigs which are set very loose (see other threads on adjusting the Hellwig helper springs) then see if that tightens things up a bit.

The gas shocks and sway bars should improve things, but most of it will likely be subjective.

I've had without the J ride + and with it on my current rig and it's night and day difference. To begin with, understand that the stock Ford shocks are junk. The joke is their made to get you from the dealer to home. Bilsteins give you a smooth controlled reaction to the bumps. Their very nice. The body isolation mounts, oversize front and rear sway bars, Hellwig springs, and double balanced 3 piece driveshaft is really doing it right. Now I'm the first one to be critical when Jayco screws it up, but they nailed it just right with that chassis. Mine rides like a big 31 foot Cadillac. To get a better ride, I think you'd have to go to a spendy class A with air bags.

X2 best class C ride and handling of the 5 Rvs we have owned.
I think I may replace the stock Ford steering stabilizer at some
point.
That is the only Improvement I can think of.

Positive caster is a natural stabilizer.

2018 Greyhawk 31 fs Jayco Ride Plus, when hellwig springs are adjusted correctly it rides like my F-150 Platium Truck. Be sure to get a truck dealer to re-set front end alignment. I also added a Roadmaster front sway bar and sterling stabilizer. This thing drives it should,,SMOOTH and nice....( 15,000 miles ).

I believe the only difference of J-Ride to J-Ride Plus is the addition of an upgraded rear sway bar. Problem is, this doesn't fix all the suspension issues.

To fix it right, requires replacing the front Ford OEM sway bar, which is a joke. Also replacing the cheap Ford OEM steering damper with a Roadmaster Reflex steering stabilizer.

I just replaced both front and rear sway bars on my brand new rig with Hellwigs and replaced the steering stabilizer with the Reflex. I have the standard J-Ride on my rig. These upgrades made a 500% improvement on handling and steering.
