Yikes, no drilling or welding on my frame! I utilized 2 existing vertical 1/2-13 grade 8 bolts Freightliner screwed their wire-harness anchors onto. The holes are spaced 4" apart should give me a fair amount of clamping force for the 1/4" x 4" plate stock I used on this project. All said and done the pump is now secured.

I went with a no-weld added support to keep mine from dragging the road.

Any Jayco "fixes" out there?

Hey recall'ees. Anyone got pics of the Jayco authorized permanent fix yet? As you know I just went with a personal fix. Very interested on how Jayco "fixes" this.

That looks nice and simple.
Where did you get the parts?

Well I received a letter from Jayco today saying that my 2018.5 Seneca IS in the recall for the failing pump mount. I have already braced mine which is a bolt on brace but will go see my dealer and see if they have info on the fix and see what they have come up with.

Also received recall letter today on my 2018 Entegra Esteem 28V. My rig is at the dealer now waiting for Jayco to respond to fix it.

I also finally received my recall letter today as well for my 2018 Greyhawk 31DS. Would like to hear from someone who has already had the recall performed to see how Jayco is addressing this issue.

I also received my letter today. The closest RV dealer to me is over a hundred miles away. I think I will crawl under the RV tomorrow and see if I come up with a solution.

Yes, my letter also arrived today. I checked the NHTSA site a month ago and my 2018 MV29 was not on the list at that time and now I get the letter. Oh joy! It appears that someone decided that it wasn't going to be specific motorhomes, but the majority of, or all of the affected models and years (4,036 units). I also read some of the on-line documents which indicated that the necessary repair part kits won't be to shipped to the dealers until after November 23rd. Unfortunately, the two closest authorized dealers to where we'll be spending the winter are both CW's. Here are the recommended tools that the dealer is to use to make the repairs: Sawzall with steel cutting blade OR 4” die grinder, 9/16” long socket and ratchet, 9/16” open end wrench, Box to support the pump during the repair, 9/16” short socket and extender. Can you imagine some of these employees under your motorhome with a Sawzall?

Looks like much better design but my question is, this is all shown on a class C and does this same bracket fit out 10” frame rail of the Super C’s?

Here is a direct pdf loaded up here....

So talked to the local dealer and they said they could take care of it even though they don’t sell Motorhomes. I expressed my concern about 1 kit was covering Class C and the Super C as I doubt that the frame rails are the same size. They agreed to order the kit and then I could come down and take a look at it and measure before I take the coach down. Looking at the instructions, the first thing is to cut off the old mount.....so if they start the install only to find out it won’t fit a Seneca you’re screwed. I will post as soon as they get the kit and we check it out.

I spoke with my Jayco “insider” friend again today. He again assured me that this doesn’t apply to our Senecas. He said that the recall group made an error when they included the Seneca in this recall, saying that they lumped the Seneca in with the other C class RVs. (Desk Jockey, and the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing) There is apparently a big meeting planned soon to address this. The Seneca is built on class A line, and that our chassises are modded by a different company than the other Cs. The file I posted is showing a regular class C. The parts WILL NOT fit our Seneca chassis or our hydraulic pumps. He went on to say,in reference to the pump bracket pictured on FB, that failures of welds have occurred, but it’s a extremely small percentage of the units in service. If a failure occurs Jayco will stand behind it regardless of warranty status he assured me.

When I saw 1 "kit" number and the instructions showed installation on a Class C I figured something was up.

As posted earlier in this thread... Jayco said my Seneca is not part of the recall in an email... today received letter saying it was a part of the recall.

I’m also interested to see what Rustynuts finds when his shop gets the universal bracket to see if it fits.

Got my letter also

I got my letter saying our 2018.5 Seneca S2RV is included in the recall.

I called the dealer I bought our rig from. They had no clue about the recall, did not know if they had parts for it, can't get my rig in to even look at it until Jan 26, 2021, and will let me know 1 week after Jan 26th when they might get around to fixing it.

Useless...I'll be fixing it myself...

My dealer was able to look everything up on their computer. It showed the recall and parts needed and ordered them on the spot. Not even the dealer I bought it at. Strange they couldn’t do the same thing.

I still say this new “kit” is not meant for our Seneca’s.
