It "should be" on the door post next to the FORD sticker.

I have a Jayco tag there but

If that's the Jayco serial number after the vin, it has too many numbers to be accepted on the Jayco info form. I have a vin number and a number following it in parentheses 7x1tgo137 , the Jayco form gives a message, "Your Jayco serial number must be 8 characters".

Try just using the last 7. Since it is a 99 things probably changed over the last 16 years. Your best bet is probably calling if your looking for info/documents.

Jayco has always asked for the last 8 characters of the VIN when I call Support.

The sequencing for letter to date starts anew regularly. Lot's of dates only 26 letters. If you're reading an '87 it has to be for that sequence.

It sounds like you're having trouble getting it registered at the DMV?

Unless the PO was diligent in removing every place it's attached, there should be multiple possible places.

Perhaps on the top edge of the A frame, near the front wall of the camper. The VIN might be stamped lengthwise into the steel.

One place is on an aluminum plate riveted to the frame underneath. It should be behind the wheel, on the side of the main frame member, facing inwards toward the center of the camper. Out TT is on the door side, but yours may be different.

Look for a spec sheet inside one of the cabinet doors.

These are the most common locations that I can think of.

It looks like the 4th and 5th digits are reversed per what you list. And an "H" model year code can be either 1987 OR 2017.

Is the DMV questioning your VIN#on the title? Why do you think you've been scammed?
