Just a heads up

So I open the passenger side rear storage door on our 2017 Melbourne 24K and something -I think a squirrel- bolts out. Signs of his presence were all over the compartment-chewed up gloves-shedded bottom mat and the red Pex waterline where it enters the compartment through the 1 & 3/4 inch hole. Seems a big hole to run a 5/8 o.d. line through. Next to that hole in another 1&3/4 for the cold water and power to the light.
About 3 hours later I had the line replaced from the storage comp. all the way over to the the wet bay stowage compartment. Abandoned the old hot line as it was taped or wire tied to some wiring running over the top of the water tank.
My wife and I have NOT even slept in it since bringing it home the middle of January.
I filled all the holes in both compartments with foam until I can permanently cover them with metal.

Beware of squirrels or better yet SQUIRRELS BEWARE

A friend had over $3,500 in damage ( water lines and elec) from a squirrel. They're just big mice with bushy tails.

Gosh, mice are bad enough. Squirrels are nasty little creatures, and we have lots in town. Thanks for the heads-up!

I think it's time I move forward with my project to build a weaponized, RV version of the Roomba.

Did you figure out how the squirrel got in?

Once they get in, they will keep chewing in the same area to get back in.

25 years ago or so, I cut the roof out of my brothers car and installed a pop up sunroof. A few days later, he was all huffy and made. He left it open, at his place, a very woody area. A squirrel crawled in. And chewed up the interior and a few wires. We figured he could not get back out.

That sounds awesome. If you get it working put something on YouTube so we can all watch.

Jagiven you are right. had to do the repair twice so far. The second time I ran the Pex through copper and the copper through 20 gauge sheet metal patches covering the 1 1/2 holes Jayco ran the Pex into the storage compartment.
Did the same thing on the other side where it goes into the wetbay. Put mothballs on the frame rail near both sides and Decon tablet on the ground plus a little bowl of antifreeze next to the Decon.
Banzia - I like your idea best.
I had filled the holes with expanding foam until I could get metal in-the critter just played with that.
Still have work to do on the wet bay.
The critter has just chewed off the red Pex so far.
I think its a chipmunk.
Picture is the storage compartment on the passenger side just behind the duals.
