Kantrex Digital echo-charge

Hi!!
We recently purchased our 2008 Jayco Melbourne 29D and I'm not familiar with certain components. The seller explained to me the purpose of this Digital echo-charge but I have a question to the forum. Can anybody explain to me why Kantrex supplied/installed it with 14-16 gauge wire & fuse holder at the house and truck battery terminals but the charger unit has 12 gauge wires coming out? I'm tempted to replace the fuse holders and smaller wires to match the 12 gauge wiring. Any advice will be appreciated.
