Keeping the coach cool while on the road
When we are traveling if there is someone in the coach area they claim it gets warm any suggestions on how to keep back area cool while driving thanks

what type coach. Most states really frown on people back in t/t or 5ers. I would think that would also be very unsafe.

I have done both. The challenge with jayco is that they don't put any 12v outlets in the house area of the coach.

We do most our camping in the summer in Texas, so we run the generator and house a/c along with the E450 A/C. With this we use a small blower style fan to push air to the back and circulate it better.
This does use extra fuel, but it is necessary in places with a lot of heat.
When we get to the campsite, I pop the hood to allow the engine/trans to cool quicker. This reduces the amount of heat tranfer to the coach side form the engine bay.

We also run the Generator on the road to run the AC. Truth is that the Generator doesn't run much as we are often plugged in, so I like getting the hours in to keep it running smoothly. Try to keep cab AC off for fuel, but if it's hot fuel be damned, I favor comfort!

I tried running with my generator on last summer in my 31FS GH and ran into an issue. About an hour into the drive, the ac stopped working. When I got to the campground, everything was working fine. I can run the ac off of the generator now. Does anyone know what would cause the AC to stop working into a drive like that?

Hard to say from here, could be the coil froze up.

Try cracking a window at the rear of the coach to get some "through flow". Dash unit is blowing air into a basically sealed box so without letting the hot air out the coach is goint to be hard to cool.

Yes. I have a new GHawk 31 FS and at 6 months my Cummins generator would run for a short time but for the most part it would cut-off always in less than an hour. It got so that it always would do that so I knew that if I took it in to a Cummins dealer/service center it most certainly would perform this problem for them. Diagnosis was the wiring inside the generator compartment. One of the wires would short out with ground causing my trouble. Once repaired it works fine.
