Kwikee Steps - again

Whelp - time to fix something else on this thing...

They've got power. But no in/out movement. Banged on the motor housing (hey it works for starters) and got it to run, but it would "grind" if trying to retract.

No noise if it extends, only grinding on retraction.

Does the group still think a motor replacement is the best approach?

1. Close inspection of the linkage, hinge points, and electrical grounds. Apply plenty of lubrication at all points, and check for binding, operation, and any unusual noises, with the linkage disconnected.

2. Motor.

Sounds like the gear may be stripped. Mine did this just before I arrived at the factory for other repairs. They just replaced the whole stairs I guess because they could and Lippert was right down the road. I never saw the old steps or motor.

Thanks all.

I'll re-lube and then pull the motor and see if the gear is missing some teeth.
