LED Lights
Simple question from a simple guy, Is it worth the cost to replace the light bulbs in my 05 26SS Class C. It has #921 12 volt automotive bulbs which are a little tough on battery draw, but how much better are the LED's?
Are there some brands better than others?
Thanks Mel

according to specs a 921 draws 18 watts or 1.4 amps at 12.4 volts
a led 921 draws 2.5 watts for a premium Sylvania.
This site talks about it for RVs
Excellent 921 bulb wedge replacement lights - 12V LED lights
I didn't want to spend a lot in my old RV so I only replaced a few that I used most. Really saves the battery and also puts out much less heat.
Watch out for color. A lot of the cheaper ones are very bright white/blue and not at all pleasant.

I got mine on Amazon, and some on eBay. I wish I had done them all one place or the other, as they do not all have the identical color of light. But I was able to at least get all the same colors and the same rooms, so it's ok. LED's draw way less current, and run way cooler. I replaced my outdoor bulb with an LED too.

Depends on how you use your MH. I replaced all of mine with LED’s purchased from a china seller on Ebay. They are the flat 48 LED board style, with a bit of searching I think I paid about $1.50 each. I purchased a few extra just in case, and not one has died The adhesive on them was no good, but that was an easy cheap fix. It has been a while, but I believe all my LEDs pull about the same amount of power as one incandescent bulb. Which really helps extend the battery while boondocking.
As for better; I purchased these as they put out about the same amount of light as the original incandescent bulbs did. Some people will choose a different Temperature (color range) as they like the whiter white, verses the yellowish color.

That's subjective as I like the bright white/blue of the LED lights. I'm old and the brighter light is welcome for these old eyes. I hated the yellow light from the power hungry incandescent bulbs.

Like some here, I chose the "daylight" color of the LED bulbs (all purchased at the same place). I find that we don't have to use many of the daylight color bulbs at once to provide the lighting we need.
When we purchased the Greyhawk, the salesman said all the interior bulb were LED. But, as we began camping, I noticed a lot of heat coming from bulbs over the counter-top area. I changed those and the light bulbs in the storage bins below the coach.

The color of the lamps is rated in kelvins, the higher the "K" rating ie 4200 makes the lamps bright white, the lower the "K" rating ie 2700 makes the lamps a warmer yellowish color Ye old light bulb salesman

Thanks for all your help, I know now that that the change is well worth the expense. I'm still confused about whether to spend a couple dollars each or maybe somewhere between there and ten dollars each, the "K" factor looks important and looks like around 3000 K for brightness is where I want to be, so will take it from there, thanks again.
By the way, does anyone have a manual for my 05 26SS they would sell? I have been carrying one for a 06 Seneca that doesn't make much sense to me.
