Lesson I learned yesterday (Tires)
Lesson I learned yesterday. Getting ready to travel from NM to AZ about 500 miles. I had checked my tires the day after we arrived at our campsite all pressures were good. We were getting ready to leave two days later my wife said the rear tire looked low. I checked the tires and found my inner dual was flat. I had picked up a screw causing a slow leak. Disaster averted we called roadside assistance and got a new tire in about an hour. If we had been on the road god knows how long we would’ve waited for help to arrive or what damage could’ve been done.
The lessons I learned
1. CHECK YOUR TIRES THE MORNING OF TRAVEL
2. ITS GOOD TO HAVE A SECOND PAIR OF EYES CHECKING THINGS BEFORE YOU ROLL

So glad you averted a potential disaster!
I strongly recommend a TPMS system, it can warn you before a tire is discovered flat. A tire significantly low can overheat and fail catastrophically. And most TPMS systems can also monitor a towed vehicle's tire whether it is a dolly, a trailer, or a flat-towed vehicle.
I don't leave home without it!

Several systems out there, many users here on the forum have had good luck with their various systems.
I personally own a Minder Research "TireMinder" system. Their customer service is great, and they have a free annual transmitter battery replacement program. I have used their system on my last motorhome and transferred it to my current Seneca. And my system has alerted me to several problems before they became big issues on the highway.

TST " Truck System Technologies" is what I have.
I wish they had a special sensor for the spare. They shut themselves off when not in motion so the spare won't work.

I use the EZZ TPMS System, it also monitors my toad tires and the RV spare in the rear storage. The main display will shut down to save battery life when no movement is detected, but the transmitters stay active as long as they sense pressure. I change the batteries once a year.

I am using this one
https://amazon.com/Tire-Pressure-Mon.../dp/B01DTGH66M
If for some reason there is temporarily no signal coming from the sensors to the monitor, I do not feel comfortable when towing. It is like driving without mirrors. You do not know what is going on back there.

I had the same happen. Got new endurance tires and after two weeks we went to go camping. Checked pressures and all were good but one. Filled it up and packed everything. Decided to check it again before leaving to be safe and noticed it down about 10 psi - in one hr. After playing with it I noticed the valve stem was bad. When I moved it it would leak air. Took the tire off, called discount tire and they took care of it right away. Trip went good.
That was before a 1200 mile trip. Pre trip inspections can’t be understated.

Agreed. And, I also make it a habit of taking a walk around the truck and trailer when I stop for fuel or at a rest area just to take a quick look.

I was looking at these on the EEZ site. Do you have the anti-theft or flow through caps? Can't figure out what the difference is except with the wrench for the anti-theft.

Very similar story here: On our pre-trip inspection before heading home to AZ from FL, I found A low TT tire. Inflated it with our air compressor, drove to a nearby Discount Tire, they got us in fast, repaired a small nail puncture, and we were on our way.
Glad I made that air pressure check rather an assuming all tires were all OK as every previous air pressure check had been.

I have the anti-theft caps, but actually I don't even use the anti-theft part of them. I have used them for 2 years now and have not had any problems with them. One time, the right front brake of the toad was dragging, the sensor set off the high temp alarm and I was notified within a mile of driving. Pulled over and reset the patriot brake. That saved me from screwing up a rotor. Picked up a screw driving down the road and the alarm went off for a fast leak on the right rear inside tire. Without the alarm I would not of even know I had a flat.
I wouldn't drive without them.

When we are leaving on a trip, I turn on the TST the day before and let it link up to all the tires on the rv and truck. Then if I need to add air, it's done the morning before. Travelday, just turn them on and hit the road.

I rap my tires with a metal tire bat to sound their pressures in between gauging them. Old school I know but it is effective once you know how your tires sound when properly inflated. I wish the OEMs would include a rim-mounted TPMS just like cars; don't like the screw on valve stem sensors.

Definitely get a Tire Pressure Monitoring System. Great piece of mind when traveling.
