Levelers on a Redhawk.

Has anyone attempted to install leveling jacks on a Redhawk? I’m wondering how difficult it would be to attempt this myself.

We are having HWH Hydraulic leveling system installed on our 2017 Melbourne 24L. We are letting a certified technician install this system so we can be sure it is done correctly and that we have the warranty in case there are any issues. Depending on the type of leveling system you are planning on installing it might void the warranty if you do it yourself. Just a thought.

Brackets are supposed to be welded to the frame, so unless they are already installed it would be a task.

If you don't mind me asking, how much do they want for the system and install ?

I have a 2017 Redhawk and when I purchased it the hydraulic jacks were already installed. The automatic leveling works great, saves enormous time trying to level manually especially in the dark. The one sticker with them is during the first maiden trip out there was a leak in one of the lines which deposited a lot of transmission fluid from jack reservoir on a nice clean pull thru pad at a Campground off I-95 in NC. This was due to the line rubbing the drive shaft of the of chassis vehicle. Don't know if the jacks were installed by dealer or at Jayco prior to being delivered at dealer. A dealer repaired it but it delayed my trip by 3 days. The bottom line is they function very well. Unfortunately do not know the cost as it was part of the entire package. I suspect there is a fair amount of labor to installed them in the absence of a hydraulic lift to raise the unit since these things must be plumb with the ground when they come down.

Not on a motorhome, but we installed a 4-point system on our 5th wheel. The brackets bolted on. The only problem we ran into was finding a good location behind the slide. The back jacks ended up further from the back wheels than preferred, but we never did drag them over any curbs.

I went around and raised all my jacks up one bolthole. I just wasn't comfortable with how low they we're to the ground. Anyway, I got a real good look at the system, and it does not look like an easy install. In addition to what grumpy said, there is an angle bracket you would need to fab up to support the pump. Running the lines, priming the system, electronic controls, I suppose you could do it, but it it's gonna be some work.

Mine came on coach new. Depends on your ability. Some jobs are best left to the checkbook. Mine work great both in auto mode and manual. Lots easier on slides when coach is level.

The 4-pt system we installed ourselves was all electric, no hydraulics (and no 'auto' ability). We did have to drill holes in the frame for bolts, so there was work involved, but no welding.
