Leveling

Jayco Greyhawk Prestige31fsp:
Just about everytime I use the auto level at a park, the system extends the front so the tires are off the ground even when my carpenters level says it is close to level.
Do I need to somehow recalibrate the system? I do not see how the front tires need to come off the ground everytime. I have heard there is a way to recalibrate the autolevel by pressing the up level 10 times in a row followed by the down 10 times. Has anyone tried this and did it help?

This will depend on your system on how to re calibrate.
Check your manual or online.

The system is really not very smart.

I just manually level it.

I usually do what Bullitt suggests. I have a carpenters level and level it manually. I've heard varying responses as to having the wheels off the ground, but it seems sketchy to me. If the site is sloped enough where I can't get level without wheels up, I go a little higher, put some 2x8 wooden blocks down then lower it so the wheels are down on the blocks.

I changed my front shocks at 19,700 miles and there is significant damage to the bushings. I'm not saying the damage is mostly due to hanging the fronts in the air, which I have done, but it makes sense.

Resetting the system is usually called "reset the Null". Google around for your system's exact procedure. But I'm with Bullitt now too.

Mine's usually smart enough to not lift the tires up. Usually, not always. But not accurate enough to nail level. I used two peel n' stick level bubbles by the door. Now I can easily tweak the level and watch the bubbles.
