Leveling Blocks Question

How many bags/stacks of leveling blocks do you guys bring with you? I just got my 11.5"x11.5" Hosspads in to put under my Big Foot levelers. I know I should bring some lego blocks in case I'm on a site that needs leveling that exceeds the throw of my jacks. I'm uncertain if I should be packing 2 bags of Lynx, or maybe 3? 3 seems like a lot - but than again prior to my Jayco I drove around with 6 bags since I had no levelers at all.

What do you guys bring with you?

I carry one bag of Lego and 8 pieces of 10"x10"x1.5" lumber with bevelled edges. I like the bigger, wider pieces to drive up on.

The bag of 10 Lynx Levers has always proven adequate (6 years).

We have two bags. One is primarily used to put under the stabilizers while the other is used in case we need to level the trailer.

I currently have 3 bags of Legos. I use about 3 or 4 on the tongue jack. I've never needed more than 3 bags. Although, I passed a few sites last week that people had about 4 high on one side. I try not to stack that high. But, you will need a bunch if you own a tandem axle TT due to multi-level stacking or both wheels. Can't imagine doing it with a class C.

I've used 5 bags once on my older 'C'. The front driver's side tire was way off/low.

I carry nothing but the Lego style blocks. I became sick of hauling around lumber. 2 bags worth (20 blocks) has been all that is needed. However, I'm going to get a third bag because it has been tight a couple of times. They are cheap and don't take up much room.

So far, 2 bags of Lunx blocks have been all I've needed. However, I don't use them under the tongue; as I have one of these... http://www.amazon.com/Valterra-A10-0.../dp/B000BGHVSM

By the amount of Travel Trailer folks I'm getting responses from, maybe the motorhome folks don't really carry much if any.

Oh contrare, they carry them. I've seen them. When I see Class C's and A's at the CG, I notice they use more than I do. I guess due to having 4 corners.

Exactly why I posted this question. Levelers are great but I'm sure I need SOME blocks just in case.

I've got 2 bags of Lego's. That gives me enough to level side-to-side if needed. Occasionally I will put a pair under the landing gear. Whatever is left over go under the rear stabilizer feet so I don't have to lower them so far. I keep thinking about getting another bag of them in case I run into a pad that is seriously off-level.

My dad has a Class C and carries the same blocks I have (Lynx Levelers, one set of 10) as well as some lumber. Last time we were out, he used all of his Lynx blocks, plus some lumber. He does not have levelers built into his MH, he just has scissor type stabilizers that he added himself (I don't know why it didn't have any from the factory, but whatever).

My inlaws also have a small Class C, but they just take their chances and try to get the rig as close to level as they can without any blocks, and they don't have/use stabilizers either (but they're weirdos, so I give them a break )

4 Inches and tires lift

For sure we do Jopopsy. I found 4 inches is about all the lift it takes before the tires start to raise off the ground, at least with the fronts. I would assume your MV is very similar to my ME in that regard. And it is very suprising how little slope it takes to achieve a 4 inch difference from front to back. My understanding is you definetly don't want the tires hanging.

I had originally taken only the Lego blocks in my rig. But after my first time deploying the Levellers at a campground I quickly saw that 10 little squares was not enough. And with duallies on the back, long boards were pointless since you have to support both tires, hence the stack of 10x10 squares.

One quick observation... lego's stacked on top of the lumber slide off if you reverse too slowly so they are not great in combination.

I am not carrying Lego blocks - instead i have 6 2x8's about 3 feet long and 4 pieces of landscape timber (flat on two sides). These are used to raise the wheels in case of extreme need. (Think of building a ramp). In addition, i have 4, 2 inch thick engineered beam 6x8 for under the HWH jacks. Been using this method for 15 years.

Have three bags of lego blocks and always use at least 1 1/2. I put 3 to 5 legos under each jack just to reduce the amount of travel. I may put legos under the tires if the site is too far off level and that would mean a minimum of 6 blocks for one rear side. That means I would also add more blocks under levelers. It's most likely overkill but it's just my preferred method of leveling.
Parked at my BIL's house last month I used all three bags as there was a nice slope to his driveway. Had to use a dozen just for the rear tires and then the rest went under the levelers. No tires off the ground but the rear levelers were extended quite a bit.

I carry 2 bags of Lynx Levelers and 8 pieces of lumber (2X8 cut to 12 inches). Use the Lynx for side to side, then use wood/Lynx for stab jacks and tongue.

I want to get another bag of Lynx and a dedicated tongue support like Charles linked. Then I can lose the lumber.

I carry 2 bags of Lynx, and some 2x8 pieces. I rarely use anything at all.
