living room slide

On my Seneca the living room slide makes all kind of noise when you open or close it. The sound is coming from the rub bar I think it's called and I'm wondering if anyone has tried to lubricate the bar in any way. I know the screws holding the bar down are not hitting the bottom of the slide, been there and done that. thanks

Mine creaks and moans like crazy. I lube up the seal and the gear drive and it seems to help. I put some lube on the bottom seal and that slippery mess got into the coach and the carpet got slippery as well so I dont think I will lube that area again While at the dealer the tech had to move it in and out a few dozen times to make way for traffic and he said it was normal and he did not hear anything that he felt was a concern.

I had my slides worked on last year because of that same problem and some others. To stop the noise on the living room slide the technician climbed in the front storage bay where the rails run thru and squirted lubricant in thru the hole in the back of the bay where the rail runs thru. He said there is a roller and guide back there and to periodically just reach in and just squirt lubricant all over. Don't know if this makes sense but if you can find the area I am trying to describe and just squirt in some lube in there maybe it will fix your noise.

I spray the bars with this CRC every couple of months or when it starts getting louder. Makes a big difference.
The sound was scary when we got the Seneca new and bars were dry.

Ours was too but upon inspection after I got home I found a bunch of paper and masking tape wadded up on the underneath side from the body painting. It was a little better after cleaning that out crawling in the bays and spraying the arms, rollers and gear rack it quieted right down. I use the 3in1 slide lube but its just another teflon dry lube.

I think we all have the same noisy issue. I you think of all the weight on these and really not much in the way of rollers or bearings. As Rusty says any of the teflon PTFE products will work and hopefully not attract to much dust and dirt.
