Locusts

We have a 2018 Greyhawk 26Y with a Ford E- 450 Triton V10. We have noticed that when the engine is running somewhere around 2100 rpm there is a noise coming from the engine compartment that sounds very much like a tree full of locusts. If you slow down slightly — it goes away. If you speed up slightly — it goes away. We have checked all the fluids. We have run higher octane fuel. No difference. This has only started around 10,000 miles. We currently have around 15,000 miles on the engine. I know when I take it to the Ford dealer, the “locusts” will be gone, so I have recorded the sound. But, that will only get me so far. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I would like to be armed with as much knowledge as possible when I take the motorhome to the dealer.

See this link, it's a "Sticky" in the Class C section.

Dealer will say "it is running as designed", and I've even heard they will not install the pulley. Order it by part number, self-install in 15 minutes, live happily ever after.

If you have never done a serpentine belt try this:
Take a picture(s) so you can see which way it runs over each pulley.
Take a long socket wrench and attach it via a socket or in some cases the end of the wrench into the tensioner pulley and you can overcome the spring and remove the belt.

If replacing with a new pulley do so.

Put new belt on all pulleys except the tensioner pulley.
Use the same wrench to pull the tensioner pulley loose enough to put on the belt. Don't get a finger between the pulley and the belt in case the wrench slips.

Done.
There are various posts on replacing belts but I didn't see one for the V-10.
