Look what I found!

So I finally got around to installing an extra 12 V USB outlet on my dash. Looking for something unrelated, I emptied out my glove box and found a 12V outlet that I never knew was there! So I tapped off its power supply for my new 12v USB outlet! The outlet has constant 12V, it’s kind of useless in my eyes unless you use it with the grove box open or smash the wire in the door. But it’s there!

Your story reminds me of the time I bought my uncle's 1975 Ford Granada. (sorry Ford, this car was a piece of junk!) Anyway. I was a 23 year old kid just married and my wife peaked into the glove box and pressed a button inside. It was the trunk release. My uncle never knew it was there. You should have seen the look on his face. A year earlier he locked his golf bag in the trunk with the car keys inside it. He had to pay a locksmith to come out to the golf course to open the trunk.

Lol! We had a Granada POS also! I had a 2011 Toyota Hylander, limited. It had a button , more like a rubber nub under the rear glass hatch handle that no one knew what it was for. Not even the dealer knew. Then one time while at the dealer where my friend worked we kept pushing it as it would make a noise. We found out it was to lock all the doors from outside the car as long as you had your key fob/remote in your pocket!

funny i just found out that myself this past weekend on our 2018 highlander. i never knew what the button was for.

I try to make it a point to read the owner's manual for every new vehicle that enters my life if I haven't already read it before I bought the vehicle. There's lots of interesting things you can find in there.

I didn't read the one for DW's Tahoe, and my neighbor showed me a button on the tailgate that opens up the back glass only. Pretty neat find.

I have a similar lock button to that on the Highlander on my Jeep Grand Cherokee; sometimes I even remember it's there. LOL!

Imagine that, I just looked earlier, and I have one too!!

That makes a total of 3 in the dash area.... now to find enough things to plug in....

Hehe, I installed a splitter.

So counting the hidden one in the glove compartment, I have 5 12V outlets up front!
