We got a 2017 Jeep Cherokee Overland that had already been a toad so already had the additional towing harness installed. We added invisibrake, and been towing about 2 years now. Actually only has 21,000 miles on it! Tows nicely.

Good luck!

I have been towing my 2012 equinox from Michigan to Arizona and back, 5000 miles round trip for 10 years now. Roadmaster tow bar and invisabrake system. First behind DP and last 4 years behind Redhawks 26xd. After 50,000 miles towing, I can say it was a good choice.

Toad a Ford Ranger

I know you said you didn't want to tow a truck, but i absolutely love my Ford Ranger. Way smaller than my 20 yr old F150 but way more fun to drive. I can still haul my bikes & wood for fires & back seat is still comfortable for short drives. Since I'm not rock climbing I passed on the FX version & got the Lariet vetsion; much more a suburban, traveling version. Tows behind my Jayco Seneca like a dream.

We bought our 2015 CRV thinking we could tow with it, but ended up with a trailer, i love the trailer being able to back up. We have done many runs Pa to Florida with our old Greyhawk and twice with our new one with no issues

We have a Jayco Greyhawk 31DS. We tow a 2002 Honda Accord with a tow dolly. The tow dolly has built in surge disk brake. Works very well. Towed the Honda on a coast to coast trip in 2017. Had no problems. It is a "CarTowDolly" brand dolly.

We reserve pull through spots where ever we go, we have never had an issue, we unload and leave the trailer hooked up , we have been doing this for years. Most camp grounds have large pull through sites that we fit in with ease, our total rig is about 55 feet long. We pull a race car trailer, a horse trailer or the open trailer withthe car depending where we are going

I towed a Tacoma 1996 4WD with a manual transfer case. The manual did not address towing it. I went to a older trans mechanic with his own shop who looked on the computer at a breakdown of my trans. He said that trans can be towed. I towed it for 2 years full time.

I got bored with the Tacoma and bought a 2003 Deville (with 25,000 miles) which is front wheel drive. I put it on a good quality tow dolly with surge brakes. I loved that setup which allowed me to have a luxury car with me.

Got bored with the full time deasel pusher after 7 years, bought a house, sold the rig and thought I was done RV’ing but 3 months later bought a Jayco used class C and next week my 5 week maiden voyage starts. I’m towing a flatbed allumunum trailer with a Harley this time. There are other options!

I used to tow a Miata but found it too small for groceries, guitars, dogs, etc when we got to our destination. Replaced last year with a Mini Cooper Clubman, 6 speed stick. Flat tows perfectly and plenty of room for wet dogs and other stuff when we arrive.

Dingy?

We've owned 3 class C's, a 2000 Tioga, a 2007 Jayco Greyhawk, and now a 2015 Jayco Greyhawk...We've towed a 2005 Chevy Malibu Maxx, now towing 2012 Chevy Equinox, Blue Ox towing hookups, and Brake Buddy for braking, all have served us well!

We pull a 2017 Ford Focus with a Blue Ox baseplate and towbar, as well a Brake Buddy braking system. No complaints thus far.

I bought a used one for about 1/3 of the new cost. They are frequently for sale and most have been used very little. "I found some used once but their price was still more than I wanted to pay.
