Low point drain lock?

Wondering if anyone has added a lock to their low point drain? Mine is located right outside the driver door, is black against the white paint and very obvious. I'm concerned that little kids will find that knob tempting, among other scenarios. It would really suck to have your fresh tank drained when you didn't intend for it to happen. Anyone ever had any issues with someone opening the drain when they shouldn't? Am I being a worry-wort for nothing? I appreciate any assistance, thanks!

I have not heard of anyone adding a locking low point drain valve.

I keep expecting my low point valve to fail. When it does, my plan is to add a 1/4 turn ball valve. You can get them in a locking version.

Only times I have heard of issues;
  • They disintegrate over time (had that happen once, hum maybe twice)
  • Stone kicked up and broke off the valve (friend had that happen on a ~20 mile gravel road while boondocking)

I would be more worried that a prankster would pull my black tank gate valve, even if a quick open / close. Uncap to connect hose and.. poopsoupsuprise..ugh.

We have two tank drain valves, and have never worried about it. I do carry a spare if one decides to let loose. I'm hoping that having an extra means I'll never need it, just like all the other spares I haven't used. I suppose it's a Boy Scout thing...always be prepared.

Yeah, I do think about that as well, God forbid! At least the gate valves are underneath the rig and not right out in the open, so I hope not as tempting as what looks like a Sparklets spigot.
