Lube points etc. w/regular maintenance ?
With our 2015 Greyhawk Ford E-450 chassis, I can't find in owners manual what are the regular lube points to check and lube at regular intervals along with oil/filter change, I am used to having grease-zerk fittings to service on my old Class A Ford chassis.
Am taking our rig to local oil service place near me and want to make sure they know what all to do upon servicing our Greyhawk...
I don't trust most repair and service shops to be very attentive to properly doing a full service lube on truck type chassis, even an authorized Ford dealer may or may not do proper maintenance procedure, so again it is up to the owner to be vigilant with the maintenance of their RV,

thanks..but still could not find anything about regular maintenance lubrication points on the E-450? chassis, eg. location of any grease fittings.

Hey Steve, from what I know there are no lube points on an E450 chassis. My previous (2006) E450 chassis had no lubes points either. However my F53 (Class A Ford chassis) chassis had several lube points that were spelled out in the manual. Since there's no lubes points listed in the manual I have to say there is none.

WOW .... After having gone through that PDF file looking for grease point, (like others) and not finding any mention of such, I'm pleasantly surprised.
I suppose Ford has come to realize these coaches don't move much (low mileage), and decided not to implement grease points. I just hope the lack of grease points don't come to bite us on the butt......

I don't think its a coach issue. The E450/E350 is used on ambulances and utility trucks all over the country. I don't think they get a greasable chassis either.

I agree, Ford sells this same chassis to a lot of different automotive businesses.

I have a 2014 E450 chassis under my 2015 Greyhawk, I do my own LOF on this unit, there are zerk fittings on each ball joint in the front end. (my local Ford dealer told me there weren't any) but I saw them with my own eyes and greased them!!

The biggest issue with greaseable ball joints is that most folks over grease them and blow the seals. One or two pumps every other oil change is all that you should use. I like grease fittings too but I've seen sealed bearings go 250000 miles if they were properly packed when manufactured. It is very easy to abuse seals with a grease gun.

The F53 chassis on our 2015 Precept (2014 Ford chassis) has nine Zerk fittings. Most were hard to locate because they were under globs of old grease. I found a diagram showing their locations by Googling "Ford F-53 Steering Linkage Lube Points."

My 2009 Greyhawk had plugs instead of zerks on king pins removed plugs and screwed zerks in now I can grease the pins.

4 Grease fittings.
My 2014 F450 Jayco has 4 that I’ve found.
Tow on the ball joints and two on the steering.

Just now saw this. I thought it was standard practice to remove all plugs and install zerks on first visit to Ford Deal for maintenance. Was I wrong?

I have a 2016, here are the zerks that my chassis has. A pump or two of grease every oil change.
