Macerator possible mess!

Does anyone else notice this - If I use my regular sewer hose and not use the macerator, the macerator hose will fill up because there is no valve to separate the two after the main black water valve. Then I will have to use the macerator anyway to clear the hose!

As you see, the regular sewer hose attachment has a valve. The macerator doesn't.

Not that I know what I'm talking about but, I thought the valve is for a backup incase the macerator fails and you use the macerator all the time.

I would probably install something like this
1-1/2 in. x 1-1/2 in. PVC Sch. 40 FPT x FPT Ball Valve-VBVP40B7B - The Home Depot
Inline.

Klassic your probably right. Just use the macerator all the time and the larger hose for backup.
