Made it to Alaska

Question, is shore power and generator the only way the single house battery gets charged?

The vehicle has performed very well so far making the rough roads a lot smoother compared to our previous rig. We are discovering that most of the systems are not oriented towards dry camping. We average about two days on the road before needing to flush and fill. Solar and a battery bank will be my next big investment for this thing. I keep telling my wife we need a composting toilet, but she feels like that would be a human litter box, so NO.

great trip, we enjoyed out trip to Alaska in 2008!

I cannot tell you for fact on your Greyhawk, but in TT's as you drive down the road the house batteries are slowly charged.

The house battery is also charged while you drive.

Then either I have something drawing more power than the charging capacity because my battery is getting drained quickly when I am off of the higher power sources.

Strange, we dry camped at Grand Canyon and I was surprised how long it lasted in ours. Of course we were not using any of the overhead lights, just LED lamps. But we did run the heater ALOT and the tv on inverter for a couple hours..and the water pump for 4 girls and me.

Could it be the battery is just failing?

Probably wouldn't hurt to pop in to a dealer there and have them check voltage on your battery. Shouldn't take more than an hour to know for sure. If it is defective you may be able to get that replaced if they have one in stock. I think you are still within warranty?

After nearly getting stranded, I hedged my bets with a new battery from Costco. After watching that battery drain in record time, I swapped it out and haven't had much to worry about since then.

We have been in Alaska all summer with 26xd 2015 model. I found the original battery to be nearly useless. Was ruined before delivery. I replaced with a group 29 AGM battery Duracell brand from Sams Club. It has been great.

We dry camp except maybe 1 day a week. I purchased a Renogy 100 watt folding battery charger from Amazon. Stores under couch. I get nearly 6 amps in bright sun.

A lot of days we don't run our generator at all. I don't know what kind of rig u have but in ours I am running heavier wire to the furnace as the small wire used by Jayco will not let furnace work properly when running off the battery.
