I took out my dinette and put in a Recpro recliner. It is well made and really nice.

Very nice! What color material is that? it looks like it matches the existing upholstery pretty well.

I don't have bolt holes through the floor from the old sofa, they used 4 sheet metal screws to mount the sofa, kind of half assed like everything else. I'll have to drill and add the bolts.

Any other tips?
On my FS the gas line was fine, and did not need moved. There was an electrical box (for the microwave I believe), that did need to be moved a few inches left or right for the reclining mechanism to function. The footprint of the RecPro was larger than my existing platform, so I used the existing bolts to secure a new plywood base wrapped in vinyl. I then bolted the RecPro to the new base on all front mounting holes, then used oversized wood screw/bolts to secure the rear mounts. Not hard, but definitely need to make sure your pre drill holes on the new base are correct and line up, as there is no way to do it once the RecPro is sitting on it. Hope this helps. Good luck!

How's the vinal wrap holding up? Would you use that again if you did it over again now?

I can move the electrical box no problem, it's the pesky gas line that has me thinking more. I may cut a slot in the base and slide it in, leaving the line where it is.

Ok, I made a base and used stick on vinal deals. Bolted the back using the existing seatbelt anchors, will anchor the front with the chairs.Click image for larger version

I put the sofa on the new base and found that it fit fine as is, but when I reclined the sliding part of the frame was bumping the electrical box. My gas line runs through there too, but nothing was within 2” of it, and with the sofa bolted down there really shouldn’t be a worry. Double check to make sure nothing is touching/rubbing the gas line when reclining etc., and you should be good to go.

Also, I tacked the vinyl down with upholstery nails galore, and it still looks great. Yes, I would do the same again!

Did you pull the upward mounted bolts out when you removed the old sofa? I just left them there, then drilled holes in their location and dropped my new base right over and used those to secure the new base with washers/lock nuts. I painted them black to match the vinyl, so you don’t even notice them.

My original sofa from the factory was never bolted down, they used a few small screws and screwed the front down, the back was not secured to anything!! There are no existing bolt holes in the base except for the seatbelts which I did drill holes for in the new base and used them to secure the back. I'll have to drill out some for the front.

I've been looking too but my slide base is too narrow also. I would be interested on what you did to the platform. Can you elaborate on that a little?

I cut a quality pice of 1/2 plywood 48”x27” and bolted it down with the existing sofa bolts. Then i am going to pull board back off now and carpet it, then after i will anchor rear of recliner thru bottom of slide like old sofa bolts and the front just thru the plywood should be good, although i think i will alos make a 2x4 frame under plywood that hangs off sldie 6”

Do you, or anyone know the weight difference between the V couch and your recliners?

Recliners installed temporarily worked great! Now i have removed slide out platform extension board i made, reinforced front bottom of board and carpeted. Next to reinstall and mount recliners back permanent with additional bolts thru slide out bottom. And yes, these recliners are cloth, and i like them enough that i fell asleep watching tv in them already. Also the factory installed jack knife sofa was so heavy that i took it apart to take it out. Now the new recliners feel super light weight in comparison, feels like maybe about half to two thirds the weight.

Hello, We have a 2017 29MV and the Fabric samples from recpro dont seem to match the jayco fabric colors. We have a beige color in our RV . Did you get recpro some fabric or did it match "enough" . The wife wont go for that . Ted

This may be my new favorite mod!

Yes Very nice. Nice comfy upgrade. I did same on my 30X. Mine has a center console that opens and has storage and 2 cup holders.

Ours is the oatmeal fabric, looks good in ours as we also have recovered dinnette seat bottoms ourselves and the fact that these recliners are so freakin comfortable it’s all super good. Will be spending some time sleeping, oh i mean watching tv in them this next week.

Completed recliner install with new carpeted pedastal extension on slide. And the old jack knife sofa with material we used on dinette cushions that i gave to a neighbor for his georgetown that needed a 60” space filled for his grandchildren. The variations in cooors throughout interior makes it look like it fits in ours just fine.
