Main dining room slider not operational

Starting another thread on my 2005 Jayco Greyhawk main room slider.

If I press the switch to get the slider to open out, it operates for about two seconds, opens the slider out about an inch and a half, then quits. I have to manually close it. Does the same when the camper power cord is plugged in.

Bought a new camper battery, and get the same results.

I did find that I drove the camper home from a camping site two hours without the "expanding room jacks" installed at the top of the slider (inside) when I left a campsite prior to having this issue. Could that have twisted the slider, causing it to bind? If I manually open, then close the slider with a socket and wrench, would that reset/straighten the slider perhaps?

I do not see a controller anywhere. I see that I have a gear in the center of the slider that rotates on a center tract to open/close the slider when I crawl underneath and look up. I've already closed (slightly), the slider to get it to seal against the camper using the manual method (socket/wrench). I deactivated the "brake" on the motor when I did this (lever inside the rubber boot end of the motor).

Will I damage anything by operating the slider manually to open? The bolt to open it seems to operate and open the slider fairly easy when I use a socket and wrench.
