Mattress

2009 Greyhawk's mattress a short queen, has anyone found something better? I might as well sleep on the floor this one is so uncomfortable like a rock so to speak. I have read the Denver Mattress not so good reviews.

1) Measure the mattress (WxLxH)
2) Buy a standard mattress that will fit.

I bought a really odd-sized one for my last trailer from these folks: Replacement Mattress | Custom Mattress for Sofas, RVs and Boats

Major improvement over the worn-out, 3-section lump of 1983 vintage foam rubber.

There are a number of them available on Amazon that have good reviews. Camping world sells some as well. We just put a foam topper on ours for now but I'll likely replace it with something better next year.

Exact same for us.

Our 4" topper is fitting the bill for now (we put it on about an hour after we woke up from our first night on the bare mattress, and it's been there for over 3 years now), but the base mattress (Denver) is beginning to show some wear. So we'll do an 8" foam mattress from Amazon and keep our 4" topper. It's still acceptable for now, so perhaps next year. We've got a lot on our "to buy" list for the next couple months, and money is "limited"! LOL!!

Pick Out Mattress You Like

We found something that might be called a mattress with a one inch foam topper on our unit when we bought it used. Did not sleep much the first trip.

We stopped by a mattress store and found one we felt good about. Then ordered one in RV size. Best move ever made.

One more reason to take a new to you unit on a short trial run. In the yard or to a nearby campground. Figure out what works for you and what you can change.

I have had two good experiences with them. They specialize in truck and RV.

I replaced our OEM mattress (which was a back killer) with a Brentwood Gel 9 Memory Foam Mattress, RV Queen and we absolutely love it. We are going to get a king for home also when it comes time to get a new one.

Here in Cajun Country (Lafayette, LA) we have a great mattress company (Erwin's Mattress Mart) that is very capable of building a wonderful custom mattress to your liking.

We purchased a '16 Grayhawk 29MV back in Feb. We spent several nights in the driveway testing the coach and quickly realize how bad the factory mattress was. We called upon Erwin's to build us a mattress that has become perfect for us. We took a six week trip through TX, NM, AZ, CA, UT, CO and back home. THE mattress served us "so very well".

Holy cow, I live less than 4 miles from them. Added this to my RV folder. Thanks for the tip.

This was my post

I replaced my mattress with one from these guys. Let me tell you what a difference it was. If you want to have some great people to deal with please call. I have rounded corners on the lower half and could not find anything that I liked and the person hat I talked to was a great help.

They had me measure the old one and helped me select out the foam and cover. I did not even think about the cover, but they told me that it would be good to use a cool-max cover that is zipped so it can be removed and cleaned.

The mattress cam in only 5 days from Colorado to California. It arrived FedEx and was rolled and packed in a small (6 foot by 18 inch box); I opened the box and found the mattress rolled in a paper with tape holding the shape.

Took inside the RV laid out and removed the packing to find the mattress vacuumed pack in a bag. Opened the bag and look out the mattress expanded out to the full 11 inches thick in lest then 5 minutes.
Let me say, if you are thinking about a new mattress think about t giving MattressInsider.Com a call. And also there was free shipping.

Chuck
