Melbourne 24k roof weight tolerance. Not a fat joke.

Happy new year all,

I have a 2016 Melbourne 24 K.

We are seeing a little leak in the cabinet over the dinette. Spent the better part of a morning with a water hose and my wife inside the rig looking for where it is coming in. No luck. Not a bad leak, but I don't know of any good leaks.

My understanding is: if it doesn't have a ladder on the back, stay off the roof. I guess I need to get up there and see if I can see any areas that may need to be caulked.

Pretty much a noob, so any thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks,

David 7

My 24k can handle 210lbs no problem. Be careful but you should be fine.

I tried doing a quick search here, but you want a RV type sealant not a window door caulk. Those might work in a pinch, but you want to replace with one made for this application. There are several threads here that give recommendations.

Dicor self leveling..

Better yet get a roll of ETERNABOND and cover all the caulking and then redo it in 15 years.
