Melbourne 29D vs. 28F

My wife and I have a dilemma comparing these two models. We like the 29D better due to the availability of both a dinette and a sofa while the 28F has no sofa but a larger U-dinette. While it will mostly be my wife and I traveling together, it would be nice to have the option of being able to bring along one or two family members or friends occasionally.

Here's my question, has anyone been able to accommodate more than two adults on a 29D on a long trip? Am I correct that the sofa and dinette are too short for a 6' adult? Are there any suggestions for other sleeping arrangements for such occasions?

Another question that is unrelated to sleeping arrangements: does the 29D have an advantage over the 28F for towing a Toad due to its longer wheel base? Thanks!

My 29d has a table that can be setup in front of the sofa in addition to the dinette. I have a double size air mattress that I put on the folded out couch that works for me & 3 dogs. The couch has removable arms that accommodate a 6' person.

Not that I would, and I declined, but my wife & daughter & son in law, granddaughter & her husband & 2 6'5" grandsons went for 4 days this last weekend. Wife & 1 grandson on the back queen, daughter & son in law on couch, granddaughter & husband on double air mattress on floor between couch & dinette, other grandson on dinette curled up.

I bought and equipped it for 2 people & 3 dogs. Anymore and I'll stay at home.

Have a 29D. Have camped with additional adults in the camper. Sofa can do 6' adult (one). Dinette can do an adult if under 6' but it's tight.
We currently do not have a toad but are working that way. Don't see any advantage either way with the E450 Ford. It all comes down to total weight.
